Portrait of Mykel HammerMykel Hammer started with the FI$Cal Project in August 2009. As the Assistant Deputy Director of Administration, Mykel's primary role is the Chief of Procurement. This includes responsibility for the strategic direction of FI$Cal's Procurements and Contract Management. In this role, Mykel is responsible for the two-stage procurement of a System Integrator to develop and implement a statewide Enterprise Resource System (ERP) for California in the areas of budgets, accounting, and procurments. Mykel was the Project Manager on the Stage 1 Fit Gap Project and was responsible for leading Project representatives, Partner Agency representatives, OTech representatives, and the three Stage 1 Contractors through this effort. Mykel also led the Confidential Discussion process for the three Stage 1 Contractors and was the Contract Manager responsible for all FI$Cal consulting contracts. She has over 14 years of experience in the areas of Budgets, Accounting, Human Resources, and Procurements. As the Budget Officer for the Office of Systems Integration (OSI) she was responsible for the department's budget development, shaping policy discussions, and facilitating strategic discussions around SI contract management and negotiations for OSI's large Information Technology Projects. She was also responsible for managing the Administrative and Project Budget Units including the County Advance Planning Unit for the Child Welfare Services / Case Management System.
