Tamma Adamek

Deputy Director, Communications Division


Tamma Adamek is the Deputy Director for the Communication Division at FI$Cal. She has more than 25 years of experience in journalism, communication, strategic planning, and management. Most recently, Tamma served as the Internal Communication Manager at the California Public Employee Retirement System (CalPERS) from 2015 to 2016. Prior to her tenure with CalPERS, Tamma was the Supervising Public Information Officer at the Department of Toxic Substances Control, where she began her State career in 2012. Before joining State service, she held various roles with several newspapers including: Features Editor and Assistant City Editor with the Sacramento Bee (2005 to 2012), Assistant City Editor with the Fresno Bee (2003 to 2005), and reporter and Metro Editor with the Stockton Record (1994 to 2003). While working at the Stockton Record, she also taught journalism at Lincoln High School in Stockton from 1997 to 1998. Tamma holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and English Literature from San Francisco State University and an Associate of Arts degree in General Education and English from San Joaquin Delta College.
